Starches

Starch —it's what holds our favorite formulations together. Often utilized as a thickening and binding agent, starch is an integral ingredient in frozen foods, canned goods, salad dressings and more. Corn Products U.S. offers starches that provide a range of texture and performance characteristics.

Unmodified Starches

Unmodified starches are general purpose, thick boiling starches used in many food applications. Starch is an economical thickener for food products such as soups, sauces, gravies, and puddings, where smooth viscosity or gel formation is desired.

Modified Starches

Modified starches provide enhanced properties to meet a variety of processing requirements and functionalities in the food industry. They serve as thickeners, texture agents, fat replacers, and emulsifiers with excellent process and storage stability in products such as salad dressings, sauces, yogurt, and frozen foods.

Instant and Cold Water Swelling Starches

Designed for instant food formulations, these starches do not require cooking to provide their functionality. Cold water swelling starches provide cold water solubility and stabilization of flavor oil in beverage emulsions. Their consistent performance allows for the replacement of expensive gums.

Dextrins

Dextrins act as texture agents and are soluble at low temperatures. In powder form, they work as carrier and bulking agents.
